A spokesman for the Libyan navy Ayub Qassem said on Monday that only 26 people have been rescued so far, adding the boat had sunk near Tajoura, east of the capital Tripoli. He said there are many dead bodies floating in the sea, adding that the under-equipped coast guard has few resources to search for survivors.
