“Searching for Ambassadors of Vietnamese abroad in 2023” contest launched

(VOVWORLD) - The contest "Searching for Ambassadors of Vietnamese abroad in 2023" was launched in Hanoi on Friday, aiming to honor the national language and individuals who have contributed to preserving and popularizing Vietnamese.

Mai Phan Dung, Vice Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs told the ceremony, which was connected online with 94 overseas Vietnamese representative offices: “This is the first year the Committee coordinates with ministries, departments, and overseas Vietnamese representative agencies to organize the contest, which aims to engage 5.3 million overseas Vietnamese people as well as foreigners who love and use Vietnamese fluently. I hope the contest will connect individuals who are "Vietnamese Ambassadors" around the world who inspire, preserve, and spread the Vietnamese language in the overseas Vietnamese community and international friends.”

Entries can be literary works, letters, personal audio/video clips telling stories, and eloquence in Vietnamese to introduce Vietnam’s land, people, culture, history, and language.
The contest will be held from April 1st to August 10th. Top 5 individuals will attend the closing ceremony entitled "Honoring Vietnamese language in overseas Vietnamese community 2023" and be awarded the title "Ambassador of Vietnamese abroad in 2023" scheduled for September in Hanoi.
