(VOVworld) – A seminar on the impact of global cultural trends on cultural policy making and management opened in Hanoi on Tuesday. Participants agreed that globalization and scientific and technological advances are breaking down barriers among nations and that foreign cultures are strong influences on Vietnamese people’s habits and lifestyles, especially the youth, through the media, literature, investment, tourism and exchange programs.
They suggested that the cultural sector train a highly qualified workforce producing products imbued with the Vietnamese cultural identity and raise public awareness benefiting the country during the integration process.  They also proposed embracing those global cultural ideals that would enrich the fabric of the national culture in order to preserve and uphold the nation’s identity.
