Senior Chinese leader urges proper handling of disputes with Japan

Yu told a group of visiting Japanese lawmakers, led by veteran Liberal Democratic Party lawmaker Takeshi Noda, that dealing properly with history is the foundation of China-Japan relations and essential for establishing stable ties. Yu called for enhanced people-to-people diplomacy and more exchange activities. He said the two countries should abide by the four China-Japan political documents, enhance trust, and cooperate with each other rather than posing threats to one another. He called for joint efforts by both sides to improve and develop Japan-China ties.
