Senior Party official visits Argentina
(VOVWORLD) -Politburo member Vo Van Thuong and Argentine leaders have discussed measures to further boost cooperation between Vietnam and Argentina, especially next year, when they celebrate the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties.

During his working visit to Argentina this week, Mr. Thuong, who is head of the Party Central Committee’s Information and Education Commission, stressed that two-way trade turnover enjoyed a tenfold increase over the past 10 years, from around 300 million USD in 2006 to over 3 billion USD last year. He said Vietnam has maintained its annual GDP growth of 7% and the rate for this year is predicted to be 6.7%. Mr. Thuong said these achievements have reduced the national poverty rate from 58% in 1993 to below 5% last year.
