Shrimp exports earned over 3.8 billion USD, making up around 45% of Vietnam’s earnings from fishery export. Secretary General of the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers Truong Dinh Hoe said fishery export will continue to rise this year because the global demand increases about 5% annually.
He said the shrimp industry is still motivated to grow in the coming years. He added that it can grow about 9% in the 2022-2025 period and earn 5.6 billion USD from export in 2025.
Vietnam will maintain its shares in traditional markets of the US, Japan, and Europe, and attach importance to potential markets such as China, South Korea, the UK, Australia, and Canada.
