(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese agro-forestry and fisheries exports during the past 10 months soared by 13% to nearly 38.7 billion USD, according to figures released by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

The statistics indicate that total import and export turnover of agro-forestry-fishery products during the reviewed period were 74.3 billion USD, up 24 %.
Strong export growth was also recorded in coffee, rubber, rice, fruits, vegetables, pepper, cashew nuts, cassava, livestock, shrimp, wood products, rattan, bamboo, sedge carpets, and cinnamon.
42.8% of the export value of Vietnamese agricultural, forestry, and fishery products went to markets in Asia, followed by the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Oceania. The US remains the largest Vietnamese export market, followed by China and Japan.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has started ramping up bilateral cooperation with Russia, Switzerland, Cuba, Indonesia, and the Republic of Korea to expand export markets.
