Sixth International Yoga Day in Vietnam to be held online

(VOVWORLD) - The Embassy of India will organize yoga events in several localities across Vietnam from this Sunday until next Sunday in response to International Day of Yoga on June 21. 

The venues will include Quang Ninh, Vinh Phuc, Ninh Thuan, Phu Yen, and Thanh Hoa provinces.

As the 6th International Day of Yoga is celebrated under the theme “Yoga from Home”, the Embassy will promote yoga practices online.

The Swami Vivekanand Cultural Centre has been organizing a series of online yoga activities, including webinars on “yoga asanas” and “Ayurveda and best daily lifestyle practices”.

A video blogging contest called ‘My Life My Yoga’ has also been launched. Participants performing yoga asanas in Vietnammust upload their videos to the Embassy’s social media platform.

The three best videos will receive prizes from the Embassy and will be considered for a global contest being organized by the Ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy. The deadline for entries has been extended to June 21.

The United Nations General Assembly declared June 21 as International Day of Yoga (IDY) in 2014. 

The yoga event in Quang Ninh province will be livestreamed on the Embassy’s social media platforms.
