Social organizations mobilized in HIV/AIDS prevention and control

(VOVworld) – Enhancing the involvement and efficiency of social organizations in implementing the national strategy on HIV/AIDS prevention topped the agenda of a seminar in Hanoi on Tuesday.
The event was held by the Ministry of Health, and the National Committee on AIDS, Drugs, and Prostitution Prevention and Control in line with the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations.

Deputy Health Minister Nguyen Thanh Long said Vietnam now has nearly 280,000 HIV positive people, 65,000 of them have died. Long highlighted the importance of involving social organizations, ministries, and other sectors in the successful implementation of a number of national target programs on HIV/AIDS and the prevention and control of other social problems.
