(VOVworld)-Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has called for further efforts to ensure socio economic development and sustainable poverty reduction in mountainous and ethnic regions.

Socio economic development and poverty reduction enhanced in mountainous areas

Addressing a national conference in Hanoi on Thursday, Dung said the Party and State have allocated numerable resources to boost development in ethnic and mountainous region: “Local party cells and governments must uphold correct awareness to ensure correct leadership. Although many incentive policies have been initiated, many of them are not practical and take time to adjust. This requires inter-ministerial effort to improve enforcement.”

The Prime Minister said that the government prioritized resources for ethnic and mountainous region in poverty reduction. He asked for more efficiency in the development of production, education, vocational training and socio economic development leadership in mountainous provinces.
