South Korea calls for dialogue with North Korea

(VOVWORLD) - South Korean President Moon Jae-in said on Monday he would continue to make efforts until the end of his term to bring about lasting peace on the Korean peninsula, and called for dialogue and cooperation with the North.

In his last New Year's statement of his presidency, Moon acknowledged South Korea still has a long way to go to improve inter-Korean relations despite many achievements during his five-year term.

If Seoul and Pyongyang resume dialogue and cooperation, the international community will respond, he said.
