South Korea: court to continue without Park
(VOVWORLD) - The trial of ousted President Park Geun-hye, after a 40-day halt, will proceed without her, a South Korean court said on Thursday.

Park, who was ousted earlier this year over a corruption scandal, has refused to appear at her trial to protest the court's decision last month to extend her detention by six months. Park's legal team quit the case, accusing the court of bias, and Park refused to cooperate with appointed defense lawyers. She excused her presence at her trial on Monday and Tuesday due to health issues.
