The plan will be submitted to the South Korean Parliament next Tuesday. Officials said that they had agreed to the scale of the package, following analyses which showed that the outbreak had reduced consumption and impeded the economy, especially the tourism sector. The stimulus package will focus on controlling the disease’s spread by compensating the hospitals affected by declining patients and building more rooms for MERS patients.
The South Korean Health Ministry said that Thursday was the 4th consecutive day without any more MERS infections.
