South Korea, US resume military drills
(VOVWORLD) - South Korea and the United States resumed their combined maritime drills Monday for the first time at a small-scale, battalion level since they were suspended in June to support diplomacy with North Korea over its denuclearization.

The two-week Korea Marine Exercise Program (KMEP) involves some 500 troops, including US marines from Okinawa, Japan, and military equipment, in South Korea’s southern city of Pohang. The two countries plan to hold 24 such drills next year.
