(VOVWORLD) - The South Korean National Security Council met Thursday to check the progress of implementing the Panmunjom Declaration signed by the leaders of the two Koreas, particularly follow-up measures to recent inter-Korean talks on aviation cooperation.

Last Friday Seoul and Pyongyang raised the idea of opening a direct cross-border air route. Official of the two Koreas are scheduled to meet on Friday to modernize direct phone lines and other communications channels through Panmunjom.
