(VOVworld) - The Southern African Development Community (SADC) forum opened in Hanoi on Wednesday to mark the community’s 36th founding anniversary.

Relations in economics, trade, and investment between Vietnam and Southern African countries have grown in recent years. Vietnamese businesses in Southern African countries have been most successful in oil and gas, telecommunications, agriculture, mineral, and processing industries. Bilateral trade has increased gradually, but the results haven’t met the potential of the two sides.
Participants in the forum suggested that Vietnam and SADC countries enhance mutual understanding, remove obstacles for businesses and improve the investment environment.
