Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide said that, for more than 30 years, Norway has been one of the strongest advocates for a Palestinian state. Today, when Norway officially recognizes Palestine as a state, is a milestone in the relationship between Norway and Palestine.

Spanish Government spokesperson Pilar Alegria confirmed that Spain’s cabinet officially passed a decision to recognize the Palestinian state, calling it "a historic day". Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said Tuesday that recognizing the State of Palestine is not just a matter of historical justice, it’s also a prerequisite for achieving a future in which a Palestinian state exists side-by-side with the state of Israel in peace and security.

In recognizing the Palestinian state, Ireland called for an end to the Hamas-Israel conflict and an end to the humanitarian disaster in the Gaza Strip. Before the cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Simon Harris said that this is an "important moment" requiring practical action toward a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict.
