(VOVworld) - People’s concerns about policies and programs to help ethnic minority people and other disadvantaged people living in Vietnam’s mountainous regions were highlights of the television program “People ask, ministers answer” last week. In the show, Minister and Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Minorities Giang Seo Phu also addressed issues related to mobilizing social funding to help ethnic people to escape poverty and stabilize their lives.

On behalf of the Prime Minister, the Committee for Ethnic Minorities signed an investment agreement with the Irish government worth nearly 15 million euros for the period 2013-2015. Minister Phu said that in 2014 all mobilized resources will be distributed to the localities so that they will reach the beneficiaries as soon as possible. Phu said the government has 2 programs to ensure that resources are allocated as scheduled in 2014 with top priority given to a program to help the poorest ethnic people escape poverty and build new rural areas. He added that resources provided by international organizations will also be allocated this year.
