(VOVworld) - The Ministry of Health has reviewed its implementation of a government proposal to ease hospital backlog. The number of public and private hospitals has risen from more than 900 a decade ago to 1,200 last year.

170 private hospitals nationwide now served just 4% of clients with health insurance, which causes inefficiency given heavy work load at public hospitals. The Ministry of Health has responded by developing satellite clinics and family doctor schemes while striving towards universal health insurance coverage.
