(VOVworld) - Ruling United Russia party won 51% of votes in the nation's State Duma or parliamentary election, according to Russia’s Central Electoral Committee.

It is followed by the nationalist LDPR and the Communist party with about 15.1 and 14.9% each, the exit polls said.
Liberal opposition parties appear to have failed to pass the 5% threshold needed for party-list representation. The Central Electoral Committee said this is the biggest ever election in the history of modern Russia with 110 million voters.
