(VOV) – The United Left Movement of the Dominican Republic on Sunday held a ceremony to inaugurate a Statue of President Ho Chi Minh in the capital Santo Domingo.

Tran Dac Loi, Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations, and Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba and the Dominican Republic, Vu Chi Cong attended the event. Earlier, while receiving a delegation from the Communist Party of Vietnam, Dominican President Leonel Fernandez expressed his deep admiration for President Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam’s struggle for national liberation and the country’s achievements in its renewal process and moves towards poverty reduction. President Fernandez affirmed that the Dominican Republic wanted to boost relations and cooperation with Vietnam in all fields.
