Stepping up policy lobbying for EU-Vietnam FTA

(VOVworld) – The EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement vision seminar will open in Hanoi next Wednesday. It’s part of a series of activities held by the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam to boost the realization of the EU-Vietnam FTA in 2018.

Entitled “EU-Vietnam FTA and promoting policy lobby”, activities will mainly take place in Hanoi and HCMC focusing on publication of the 2016 Whitebook gathering views and recommendations by EuroCham member companies in Vietnam over Vietnamese economic and legal environment.   

EuroCham will release the outcome of a survey on Business Climate Index which reflects the reliability of the European business community and changes in the operations and business plans of EuroCham member companies.

Many seminars and dialogues between the Vietnamese government and enterprises will be organized in 2016 to inform the EU-Vietnam FTA.

Vo Quang Hue, a member of the EuroCham Executive Committee, said the chamber will strengthen collaboration among ministries and agencies.

“Last year the Vietnamese economy witnessed positive changes which, we hope, will be maintained this year. Moreover, the EU-Vietnam FTA will offer Vietnam more investment opportunities. Learning the deal’s content will help Vietnamese businesses compete well and increase exports to the European market,” according to Hue.
