During the two-day event, six Vietnamese graffiti artists will create large murals featuring United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Works will be exhibited at the French residence over two months before traveling to different cities across the country.

French Consul General to HCMC Vincent Bruno Floreani said the event is part of a larger project to honor and support street arts in Vietnam to develop toward an international level. The performance is part of a street arts festival scheduled for November this year, set to be the first of its kind in Vietnam.

The street arts festival, a program sponsored by the French government, through France's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development, has been implemented in many countries like the U.S., Germany, the U.K., Japan, China, Malaysia, Thailand and Cambodia to promote cooperation on culture, tourism, and urban arts.

Floreani said the festival would promote HCMC as a new street art center in Southeast Asia.

The city is one of Vietnam's top tourist destinations, well known for its French colonial architecture and modern urban landscape.
