A joint press conference will announce the summit’s results and issue a joint statement. According to one diplomatic source, the joint statement will include a renewed commitment to collective defense.

A series of bilateral meetings will be held between US President Donald Trump other NATO leaders, including British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and French President Emmanuel Macron.

Raising military spending to at least 2 percent of each member’s GDP is at the top of the agenda. This issue has divided NATO members since the US began criticizing European allies for putting most of the financial burden on the US.
