Survey results on transparency in businesses announced
(VOVworld) – The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced the results of its survey on transparency in businesses and the need of support for capacity building in Hanoi on Tuesday. The survey was conducted with 180 businesses in Hanoi, Da Nang, and HCM city.
55% of the respondents said that transparency along with a code of ethics and legal regulations will prevent corruption and bribery. More than 92% said they are aware of business behaviors and 29% said they have implemented policies on transparency. VCCI Deputy Secretary General Nguyen Quang Vinh said: “VCCI will cooperate with government agencies to build an alliance of businesses who say no to corruption. If businesses join together and take action, corruption will be prevented.”
Preventing corruption to create a transparent business environment is one of the Millennium Development Goals towards which Vietnam has been working.
