(VOVWORLD) - Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven said Sunday that he will resign in November to allow a successor to prepare for the 2022 elections.

Lofven, who was re-elected Prime Minister by the National Assembly in July, just weeks after being removed from office in a historic no-confidence vote, announced that he will step down as chairman of the Socialist Party.
