Swiss train attack suspect dies
(VOVworld) – The suspect of the Saturday’s knife attack on a train nearing Salez station, north-eastern Switzerland, died in a hospital due to serious burn, Saint Gall police said on Sunday.

The 34-year-old female victim also died after sustaining injuries in the attack. According to the local police’s announcement on Sunday, there is no indication whether or not the attack was an act of terror or political motivation, adding that they left open all possibilities of motivations for the attack including personal motivation. Bruno Metzger, a spokesperson for the local police, said they didn’t know for sure whether the suspect spoke anything on the train or not. The police searched the suspect’s house right after the attack. According to the train closed-circuit television, the suspect is a 27-year-old Swiss man who held a knife and ignited a flammable liquid, leaving him burned and 6 passengers injured. According to the police, the suspect who was not in the black list of Saint Gall police and had no criminal record acted alone.
