The Syrian troops targeted rebel positions in Jub al-Jarrah, east of Homs. Among those killed were foreign members of the Nusra Front, an al-Qaeda affiliate in Syria, and the Islamic Front, a 6-group Islamic alliance. More than 30 rebels were killed when a Grad missile struck an ammunition depot, among them Abdul-Qader Juma, the head of the military council of the Free Syrian Army, and Eyad Zugaib, a battlefield commander.
