(VOVworld) – The Pakistani Taliban group Tahreek-i-Taliban Pakistan Jamaatul Ahrar claimed responsibility for Sunday’s suicide attack in Gulshan-i-Iqbal park, Lahore city, which killed at least sixty five people and injured over 250.

On Sunday, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi telephoned Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to express his condolences. Mr. Modi underlined the need for uncompromising efforts in the fight against terrorism.

The US National Security Council spokesperson Ned Price said Sunday that the US strongly condemns the Lahore attack and will continue to cooperate with Pakistan in combating terrorism.
