(VOVworld) - Afghan security official Gulam Mohammad Tahiri said Wednesday that Taliban insurgents executed 12 people they abducted in recent ambushes in Afghanistan's southeastern Ghazni province.

Tahiri said the victim included seven policemen, three soldiers, and two officials of the national spy agency. Over the last two months, Taliban militants have stopped buses and kidnapped passengers along the highway linking Kanbul and Ghazni province.

Last Tuesday, Taliban gunmen stopped three buses in the northern province of Sari-Pul. Ten of the 200 kidnapped passengers were executed and 45 others were taken to unidentified places.
