Taliban rules out extension of Afghanistan ceasefire
(VOVWORLD) -The Taliban refused to extend their ceasefire beyond Sunday night, dampening hopes for peace after jubilant scenes over the Eid holidays in Afghanistan.

Zabihullah Mujahid, the group's spokesman, told AFP in a WhatsApp message that the ceasefire had ended tonight and the group’s operations will begin. The announcement was released despite Afghan President Ashraf Ghani’s plea on Saturday for the Taliban to prolong its truce.
