The Taliban set the pre-condition on the sidelines of unofficial peace talks launched in Qatar by Afghan officials, activists, and Taliban representatives in Qatar. Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman for the Taliban, said it wants its name removed from the UN’s blacklist, demands that its members be allowed to freely travel around the world, and that its political office in Doha be reopened. The Afghan High Peace Council urged the Taliban to resume dialogue without conditions.
