(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnamese national football team are well on their way to defend their title after beating Malaysia 3-0 in a match of the second round of Group B of the 2020 AFF Suzuki Cup championship on Sunday evening at Bishan Stadium, Singapore.

The Vietnamese players won convincingly thanks to the goals of Quang Hai, Cong Phuong and Hoang Duc. This is the second victory of team Vietnam at the tournament after a 2-0 win against Laos.
They will face Indonesia on Wednesday and Cambodia on Sunday.
AFF cup holders Vietnam play in Group B alongside Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, and Laos.
The 2020 AFF Championship is the 13th edition of the AFF Championship, the football championship of nations affiliated to the ASEAN Football Federation, and the 7th under the name AFF Suzuki Cup. The biennial tournament originally scheduled to run from 23 November to 31 December 2020 was postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
