(VOVworld) - The 2015 International Technology and Equipment Market of Vietnam (Techmart 2015) opened in Hanoi on Thursday themed “Connection for joint integration and sustainable development”.

This is the first techno-fair of the program to develop Vietnam’s science and technology until 2020 approved by the Prime Minister.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Quan said Techmart 2015 is one of the sector’s major events to apply scientific researches and create highly competitive products.

Quan noted that “the participation of high-tech firms and members of leading companies has brought a fresh spirit to this year’s Techmart, where we can see scientists with business spirit, encountering businessmen who love science. The event will connect all these people toward making Vietnam’s technology more directly beneficial to the national economy.”

Over the past decade, 30 technology fairs have been held nationwide this year attracting some 700 companies and research organizations. 3,000 technology devices which could significantly impact the economy will be introduced to relevant industries.

The 4-day exhibition will offer seminars on clean and renewable energy, EU-ASEAN creative innovation, new materials, and science and technology for new rural development.

Following the opening ceremony, 1,200 memoranda of understanding worth more than 67 million USD were signed between event participants.
