During the three-day festivities, Thai ethnic groups of Son La, Lai Chau, Yen Bai, Thanh Hoa and Dien Bien provinces showed their ethnic traditional costumes, introduced cultural activities, and promoted local tourism products. Doan Van Chi, Deputy Director of Dien Bien provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, said: “The number of tourists to this festival has jumped dramatically. The Thai ethnic community has worked hard to promote the image of their ethnic group and preserve their cultural tradition. We hope to have more such festival not just of the Thai but also other ethnic groups in Dien Bien and the rest of Vietnam.”

The next Thai ethnic cultural festival will be held in Son La province in 2024.
