At the ceremony in Bangkok, Prayuth pledged loyalty to the country and affirmed that his Cabinet will do its best to ensure progress and stability in the country. On August 31 the Thai King endorsed Prime Minister Prayuh’s interim Cabinet with 32 members, 11 of them military or police generals or former generals. The new Cabinet will convene its first meeting on September 9, before it delivers a policy statement to the personal National Legislative Assembly. The Cabinet is expected to administer the country for approximately a year until a general election is held in the latter half of next year or early 2016.
