(VOVworld) – The Thai media have continued to comment on the recent official visit to Thailand by Vietnamese Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. Many print and online newspapers in Thailand said the joint statement to elevate bilateral ties to the level of strategic partnership has been hailed by the world and region as well as the Thai business community. The English version of “The Nation” noted that the visit marked the start of a new strategic partnership between Vietnam and Thailand, contributing to further bilateral activity in politics, security, economics, culture, education, science and technology and regional cooperation. Leaders of the Thailand-Vietnam Business Council, meanwhile, said that the visit paved the way for their first talks on cooperation in trade and investment. They added that effective cooperation between the two governments will make it easier for both countries’ businesses to boost cooperation and expand their investment in other countries in the region.
