Thailand shooting: 30 people are killed

(VOVWORLD) - The death toll in a mass shooting in Thailand has mounted to 30 people. 58 others were injured.

The perpetrator was identified as 32-year-old soldier Jakrapanth Thomma. Last Saturday, Jakrapanth killed an army guard and stole weapons from the armory. He then commandeered a Humvee. The soldier arrived at the Terminal 21 shopping mall where he began to open fire on panicked shoppers. The perpetrator was killed at the site where he was holed up for 17 hours. This has been the deadliest mass shooting in Thailand.
