At the opening of a forum entitled "Uniting the state and the people for the grassroots economy" in Bangkok, Prime Minister Prayut said the strategy aims to strengthen Thailand’s economy from the grassroots level and empower local communities and local enterprises. Under the model, the relationship between the people, the state, and businesses should be "horizontal", meaning they should be equal, and support and encourage each other to achieve their aims. The government will act as a facilitator to clear the way for the private sector and people to work together.
