Located on the 5
th floor of a shopping center in Bangkok’s Lat Phrao district, the center will monitor the referendum at polling stations and cooperate with the Election Commission to prevent any election fraud.
Police officials asked UDD leader Jatuporn Promphan not to hold a press conference but he did it anyway. Promphan was sentenced to 6 months in prison but the sentence was suspended.
The charter will be submitted to a public referendum on August 7. If the draft charter is not approved in the referendum, a general election will be held next July as promised by Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha.
