(VOVWORLD) - Thanh Ha lychees, a specialty from the northern province of Hai Duong, are now officially available for sale on Lazada, one of Vietnam’s leading online marketplaces.
James Dong, CEO of Lazada Vietnam, said the lychees will be delivered to online shoppers in Hanoi and HCM City within four hours to ensure their freshness. Lazada plans to work with the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency and other partners and provinces to sell more Vietnamese specialties online.
In Bac Giang province, another major lychee cultivation area in Vietnam, six companies have signed purchase guarantee deals with farmers in Tan Yen district. Five of the six companies export lychees to Japan and the other one supplies lychees for domestic supermarkets. A number of cooperatives and traders will sell lychees to China.
In 2021, lychee orchards in Tien Yen cover 1,300 hectares, of which 900 hectares conform with the VietGap standards. Tien Yen district expects to harvest 14,000 tones of lychees this year.
