The festival introduces hundreds of varieties of fruits from the Southern Region, discounted 20 to 30 percent below market price, and features a floating fruit market, an exhibition of rare fruits, and an exhibition of giant fruits. Vice-Chair of the Organizing Board Huynh Dong Tan said: “The festival is a traditional event to support farmers who were harmed by saline intrusion in the Mekong Delta. It also promotes advanced cultivation methods and encourages the application of VietGap food-safety program to improve the quality and boost export.”
The festival is expected to attract one million visitors and sell one thousand tons of fruits.
