The 2nd Asia’s Future conference opens

(VOVworld) -  The 2nd Asia’s Future conference themed "Rising Asia-Messages for the next 20 years" opened in Tokyo, Japan on May 22. Many world leaders attended the event organized by Japanese Nikkei and Japan’s Economic Research Center. Delegates discussed tensions in East Asia and measures to boost development in Asia.

Regarding tensions in the East Sea and East China Sea, Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong expressed his concerns over provocative acts which can lead to conflicts. He said the US-China relations and nationalism in countries are the key to what will happen in Asia in the next 20 years. Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak said economic alliance will be the main them in Asia and Malaysia supports the building of an ASEAN economic community. He expressed his hope that the TPP negotiations will create breakthrough. He underlined that territorial disputes and natural resources including the East Sea disputes must be resolved by diplomatic measures based on international law, not military and economic powers.
