(VOVworld) - The National Assembly has wrapped up its year-end session following the endorsement of the constitutional amendment on Thursday.

National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung said that deputies have made decisions on major orientations for socio-economic development, supervision and legislative work.
"Given the demand of national development, deputies have analyzed and reviewed strengths and weaknesses while mapping out socio-economic development objectives for this year and next. In the context of budget limitation, the National Assembly has made decisions to ensure budget balance, national financial security, macro economic stabilization and growth stimulation.” Hung said.

The Chairman said amendment to the Constitution has been approved as a result of public consultation and constructive absorption of finest opinions:“Amendment to the 1992 Constitution has reflected the Party’s wish and People’s aspiration. This is a constitution of the comprehensive reform in both politic and economic areas meeting the requirement of national construction and defense and international integration.”

Deputies have approved 8 laws, commented on 10 other draft laws and issued important resolutions on hydro power projects and crime prevention. Chairman Hung:“The government has to rapidly implemented laws and resolutions passed during this session while promoting communications to make sure they work in reality and yield positive outcomes.”
