(VOVworld) - The Steering Committee for the Southwestern Region and the authorities of Can Tho city have visited and presented gifts to retired Khmer people, the Association of patriotic monks, and Khmer pagodas on the occasion of the Khmer traditional festival Chol Chnam Thmay.

Nguyen Phong Quang, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for the Southwestern Region, said the Party and State have always paid attention to the lives of  the Khmer, particularly the poor and near-poor households. More policies calling for social sponsorship to organize vocational training for disadvantaged people will be imposed in the future.
