(VOVworld) –  The US President on Thursday admitted the US had “no strategy” against the Islamic State in Syria and rejected rumors that the US would launch air attacks against IS in Syria after deploying surveillance aircrafts in the country earlier this week.

At a press conference in Washington prior to a meeting with top national security advisers on measures to deal with IS, President Obama said the strategy against them was being taken into consideration and would be comprehensive. He also called for a comprehensive regional strategy, including political support from regional countries and Sunni Muslims in Syria and Iraq.

Mr. Obama said US Secretary of State John Kerry will arrive in the Middle East to seek comprehensive support for the fight against the IS in both Iraq and Syria.
