Thien Duong Cave sets Asian record for unique stalactites, stalagmites
(VOVWORLD) -Thien Duong (Paradise) Cave in the Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, has been named having the most unique and magnificent system of stalactites and stalagmites in Asia. The Asia Book of Records’ certificate was presented at the opening ceremony of the fourth Quang Binh Cave Festival in Dong Hoi city last Saturday.

Thien Duong was first discovered in 2005 by a local person and subsequently surveyed by the British Cave Research Association. The survey results announced in 2010, report the cave is 31.4km long, making it is the longest dry cave in Asia. Its geological tectonics dated 350-400 million years. It is located around 70km far from Dong Hoi City. It lies in the limestone zone of the Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park – a world nature heritage recognized by UNESCO.
