Thousands of people pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum

(VOVworld) – Thousands of people across Vietnam flocked to Hanoi’s Ba Dinh square on Tuesday, to pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum. Tran Van Hoang, a Tay ethnic man from Thai Nguyen province, said he was proud to stand at Ba Dinh square where President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence to establish the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam: "I’m very happy that I’m standing here to celebrate Vietnam’s National Day on September 2nd. We are all grateful to President Ho Chi Minh who led Vietnam in its struggle for independence. Thanks to him, we are having a comfortable life."

80 year-old war veteran Hoang Van Tau is from Cao Bang province: "This was my second visit to President Ho’s mausoleum and I wish that I could come here again before I die. I love President Ho and I also set up an altar in dedication to him at home."
