Top leader: Opportunities seized to make Vietnam strong, prosperous
(VOVWORLD) - Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong has emphasized the need for the Party, people, and army to unite to promote patriotism and wisdom, strive to overcome all challenges and difficulties, and build a more prosperous and happier Vietnam.

The leader chaired a meeting for veteran revolutionaries and incumbent and former leaders of the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front on Tuesday as the Lunar New Year (Tet) Festival approaches.
He said domestic and international situations offer a lot of opportunities but also present many challenges and difficulties calling for greater efforts to fulfill all tasks in 2021, with a focus on stabilizing the macro-economy and overcoming difficulties facing business and production activities.
"Top priority should be given to controlling the COVID-19 pandemic. Party Committees, administrations, and localities need to remain vigilant and prepare response measures to promptly cope with any incidents," he said.
"It is necessary to care for policy beneficiaries, the poor, and people living in extremely disadvantaged circumstances and in mountainous and ethnic minority areas, strengthen market management, and ensure smooth and safe transport during the Tet holiday."
The 2021 Lunar New Year Festival will begin on Friday.
