Top legislator meets with leaders of Belgian Parliament, Cuban National Assembly
(VOVWORLD) -NA Chairman Man on Sunday met with Belgian House Speaker Peter De Roover and Senate President Vincent Blondel, in Uzbekistan, during which the two sides stressed the need to coordinate in implementing the cooperation agreement between the legislative bodies in order to deepen the Vietnam-Belgium collaboration.

The NA Chairman suggested the Belgian Parliament urge the European Commission (EC) to soon lift its IUU “yellow card” warning on Vietnamese seafood exports. He also expressed hope that the Belgian Parliament will soon ratify the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) to further facilitate the operation of the two countries’ investors.

The same day, Chairman Man had a meeting with Rolando González, President of the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament (Parlatino) and Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Cuban National Assembly of People’s Power. He confirmed Vietnam's continued support for strengthening and deepening bilateral relations across all Party, State, and parliamentary channels. He committed to actively coordinating preparations for the second meeting of the Vietnam-Cuba Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee.
Rolando González also affirmed his willingness to work as a bridge helping enhance friendship and cooperation between Parlatino and the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) in general, and with the Vietnamese NA in particular, as well as between the Vietnamese legislative body and Parlatino member states.
